August 12-17, 2009: Rhonda Goes to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando

Kristen and her boys have enjoyed their 2009 annual passes to Walt Disney World. Kristen took her three oldest boys to Orlando over Memorial Day, leaving little Seth home with hubby Aaron. She hoped to include Seth in their August trip to Disney. However, Seth is too small to go on many of the rides and Aaron's job (working on the Nortel-Ericsson transition team) keeps him super busy at home. Rhonda found a deal on Jet Blue out of Austin, so was more than happy to take a break from the terrible Texas heat to be Kristen's helper at Disney.

How fun to see four cute Buhler boys running to greet Rhonda when she stepped off the escalator at the airport in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday, August 12th! We drove straight from the airport to the Cheesecake Factory, where we met Bruce, Jan and family on the last evening of their Florida vacation. It was great to catch up on all their exciting news -- Missy's upcoming baby, Mary's engagement, upcoming trips to Provo and BYU, leaving Taylor king of the roost! Bruce and Jan have 6 and 8/9 (including Clark and their new granddaughter) excellent reasons to be proud of their wonderful family.

We stayed at the Disney All-Star Sports Resort, arriving during a blinding thunderstorm. Luckily, the storm blew through quickly, allowing us to spend a few dry hours at Downtown Disney that evening, returning to the resort for a swim and walk around the grounds.

We had a wonderful three days at the theme parks -- spending a day at EPCOT, a day at Magic Kingdom and a day at Hollywood Studios. Our family never gets tired of visiting Disney!
