Provo's annual Fourth of July celebration, the Freedom Festival, is one of the biggest and best in the nation. The parade through downtown Provo includes giant helium-filled balloons, great floats, bands and more. Rhonda joined the Empeys in watching the parade from the lawn of Foxwood Apartments on University Avenue, which are managed by Spencer and Erin. This year Carrie Underwood performed during the nighttime spectacular, Stadium of Fire. While we did not attend Stadium of Fire, the Empeys watched the fireworks from the roof of the Springhill Suites, where Spencer works. Maddie has spoken of the fireworks ever since.
