EASTER WEEKEND IN COLLEGE STATION: April 14-16, 2017
Kristen and family leave Frisco the morning of Good Friday, April 14, to drive to College Station. We meet them for a late lunch at Freddy's, then see the spring blockbuster, "Kong: Skull Island." After this movie, it's back to Grandma's (it's Grandpa's house, too!) for visiting and fun.
Of course we picnic on Easter Saturday. A few years ago, Kristen bought a football, soccer ball and basketball to keep at our house, for the boys to use during visits. Since Tiffany Park has basketball standards and wide open spaces to throw and kick balls, we go there! After some initial play time, when we venture to eat lunch, we are besieged by hungry wasps, who descend upon our picnic. Eventually, after being swatted away for awhile, a wasp is angry enough to sting Rhonda. We decide to leave for a more friendly spot -- somewhere we've never visited -- Barrington Living History Farm at Washington-on-the-Brazos State Park. This afternoon is a little warm, but it's a nice, new experience to tour the home of Anson Jones, the last president of the Republic of Texas.
We enjoy all the usual things on Easter Sunday -- in-house hunt for Easter candy, breakfast, Easter Sunday meetings in the Navasota Branch, then Easter dinner. It's always great to host the Buhler family! We are extremely blessed to have them close enough to spend holidays and birthdays together!!
