JACOB BROWN'S BAPTISM: April 9, 2011

On Friday afternoon, April 8, 2011, Gary and Rhonda fly to Columbus, Ohio, to attend the baptism of Kimberly's second child, Jacob Owen Brown. Jacob's other grandparents, Rodger and Linda Brown, have arrived from California on Thursday. The Dyal family makes the three-hour drive from Canton, Michigan to Reynoldsburg on Friday evening. It is wonderful to be with the Browns and Dyals for this special event.

Jacob's baptism service is held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011. Cousin Spencer Dyal gives a beautiful invocation. There is a sweet, reverent spirit in attendance, facilitated by the angelic duet of "I Am a Child of God" sung by Jacob's brother Carter and his cousin, Jessica Dyal. Jacob is baptized and confirmed by his father, Tyler Brown. Gary Williams and Rodger Brown are witnesses.

While Jacob and Tyler change into dry clothing, Aunt Julie leads the singing of Primary songs and hymns (accompanied by Uncle Joshua). Grandmothers Rhonda Williams and Linda Brown give talks on baptism and the Holy Ghost. Jacob is welcomed as a new member of the Church by the bishopric and Primary presidency. Carter gives a sweet, heartfelt benediction.

Following the baptism, Jacob and his family eat a delicious lunch at O'Charley's restaurant in Reynoldsburg. It is a wonderful day!
