After a short night at the SpringHill Suites near Detroit Metro Airport, we make the three-hour drive from Canton, Michigan to Reynoldsburg, Ohio on a beautiful Sunday morning to attend the afternoon blessing of our newest grandchild, Kim and Tyler's baby, William Eugene Brown. The autumn foliage along the highway is absolutely gorgeous.
William is such a sweet baby. He has more than slept through the previous night and is just waking up as we arrive at 10:30 am! Carter, Jacob, Allison and Ethan greet us with big hugs -- eager to accept presents of coloring books, writing tablets, crayons and colored pens. They are especially eager to begin eating the Halloween goodies we bring them.
Tyler gives William a wonderful blessing. William does not fuss at all, but coos and goos in the circle during the prayer. Following Sacrament Meeting, we take family pictures in front of the chapel, then Gary leaves for the airport to catch his flight from Columbus to Houston.
All other family members enjoy the lovely dinner Kim prepares -- a burrito bar with all the fixings. Following dinner, the Dyals hit the road for Michigan. Rhonda spends the night in Reynoldsburg with the Browns, then drives the rental car back to Detroit Metro to fly home the next day. Always sad to leave family...
