On June 18th, 2009, Gary and Rhonda flew from Houston to Detroit to begin a 17-day visit with the Dyal kids. As we were arriving in Detroit, Julie and Josh were leaving on their 15th-anniversary getaway to Los Angeles and Oahu, Hawaii. We made connection with Josh just outside DTW's McNamara Terminal, where we received house keys, car keys, and possession of the minivan! Then it was off to the Dyal home in Canton where we eagerly gave and received big hugs and kisses from Spencer, Jessica, Alex and Logan. The kids opened their "Grandparent Gifts" (a new game for each child--for even more fun during our stay together), then it was off to dinner at McDonald's, followed by a game night back at the house. June 19th was a big movie day. Following breakfast at IKEA, we went to see the weekly Kids Club movie, "Coraline" (extremely bizarre by any measure). After an Arby's lunch, it was back to the cinema to see Eddie Murphy's latest --"Imagine That"-- in the mid afternoon. Of course, we watched the Blockbuster DVD rental of "Bedtime Stories" later that evening as we ate a finger-foods dinner on a quilt on the family room floor. Three movies in one day! Oh, what fun to spoil the grandkids!!
