Gary and I promised Carter that we would leave our room at the Fairfield Inn in time to be at the Brown's home by 8:00 a.m. on Christmas morning. When we pulled into their driveway at 8:00 a.m., Carter and Jacob were watching for us from the window of their upstairs bedroom.
The children could not wait to see if Santa Claus had visited them during the night. No worries. Each found a pile of wrapped gifts and a stocking full of toys and goodies from Santa! Carter immediately saw his cool new bicycle. First, the children took turns opening their gifts from Santa. Then, we took a break for a yummy Christmas breakfast of souffle, fruit and sweet rolls. Following breakfast, we took turns opening family gifts from one another.
The children spent much of the day playing with new toys, while Kim and Rhonda put finishing touches on Christmas dinner. Later, the kids tried out their new Wii system from Tyler's family. Ron began a new jigsaw puzzle, one of his favorite pastimes. A very merry Christmas was enjoyed by all!
