The morning before Christmas, Kim brought Ron and her children to the Fairfield Inn to eat breakfast with Gary and Rhonda. Following a stop at Walgreen's for movie candy, we drove from Reynoldsburg to the Easton Mall to see the Disney movie, Tangled.
While at the mall, the kids also hoped to see Santa, but the line was incredibly long. (Luckily, they also wrote wish lists for Santa.) Instead, we enjoyed smelling candles at Bath & Body Works, browsing displays at the Lego Store, and walking through Build-A-Bear Workshop. Grandpa Millett treated each of us to a fountain drink at the food court, while Kim phoned in a take-out order to P.F. Chang's. (Eating Chinese food on Christmas Eve is a tradition passed down from Tyler's grandmother.) Amid wonderful smells from take-out boxes, we drove back to Kim's home -- hungry and eager for dinner.
Following a truly delicious Chinese meal, we each opened one present -- matching Christmas P.J.s! After putting on pajamas, we launched into a Christmas Eve program of reading from the scriptures and singing Christmas carols, including several adorable solo performances by the children. The children prepared a cookie plate for Santa, then it was off to bed with dreams of sugarplums and shiny toys.
