BICYCLE TOUR, RIJKSMUSEUM AND VAN GOGH MUSEUM: June 14, 2011

Hallelujah! We have gorgeous weather for our morning bicycle tour of Amsterdam. After some shaky beginnings, we all seem to get the knack back. However, dodging pedestrians, city traffic (including garbage and delivery trucks), plus other bikers coming from all directions is a new challenge. Memorable sights visited include Dam Square, the Royal Palace, National Monument, New Church, De Papegaal Hidden Catholic Church, the Red Light District, Beginjnhof, Spui Square, the Rembrandt House, Buddhist Temple and Chinatown, Old Church, the Jewish District behind Waterlooplein, Homomonument, Westerkerk, Anne Frank House, Herengracht and Torensluis Bridge.

The afternoon is spent at the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum. Then we enjoy a delicious dinner at Gaucho's, an Argentinian steakhouse.
