British Military Cemetery of Faubourg d'Amiens
2,651 Commonwealth soldiers from the First World War lie buried here, as well as 30 non-Commonwealth soldiers, mainly German. This cemetery also houses a memorial to the 35,000 soldiers who died nearby during the First World War whose bodies were never found. British, South Africans and New Zealanders, mostly young men in their prime, died between spring 1916 and summer 1918. Their Canadian and Australian comrades in arms are commemorated in memorials in Vimy and Villers-Bretonneux.
