ENJOYING THE SIGHTS AND CUISINE OF LILLE: March 22, 2011

The unseasonably warm weather is perfect for exploring Lille. There are old cathedrals and statues galore! While Gary works at the university, Rhonda enjoys reading in a nearby park, then walking around a huge ancient fortress, the Citadel, now used as headquarters for Rapid Reaction Corps France. Runners are out in force along the Citadel's jogging path on this gorgeous day.

Bruno, our host in Lille, treats us to an amazing dinner of many courses at a lovely restaurant in the center of the old city. Silvia, a visiting professor from São Paulo, Brazil, completes our party of four.
