Gary and Rhonda flew from Houston to Detroit early on December 23, 2009, to spend a fun-filled Christmas with Julie, Joshua, and their family. Upon arrival at Detroit Metro, they picked up a minivan rental, checked into the Fairfield Inn, then met Julie and family for lunch at IKEA.
Later that afternoon, the Utah branch of the family flew from Salt Lake City to Detroit -- including Rhonda's dad, Ron Millett, Gary M., Erin, Spencer and 18-month-old Maddie Empey.
