January 6-9, 2010: Disney World

In spite of record-breaking, freezing weather throughout Florida that week, Gary and Rhonda braved three days at Disney World with Julie, Alex, Kristen, Justin and Seth. We monitored The Weather Channel before leaving Coral Springs, where we made a run to Target to buy thermal long johns, gloves and heavy socks. Once in Orlando, we also shopped Downtown Disney for additional sweatshirts. These purchases were not in vain. All our additional layers of clothing were much needed and used each day that week. The cold front that accompanied us to Florida did not leave the state until we did... We were amazed, however, to see a few brave souls swimming in the outdoor pool each morning at our Disney resort. The pool was heated to 84 F., but the temps dipped into the low 20's each morning of our stay!

Gary and I share a similar motto with the US postal system -- we will endure all forms of weather -- even freezing cold temps -- in order to spend time with our kids and grandkids. We enjoy these opportunities and look forward to making many more great memories in the future!
